2018 Chardonnay, Heritage Selection
Sonoma CoastCitrus notes of apricot and herbal flavors of lemon verbena dance around richer elements of marzipan and fresh vanilla bean and lemon curd.
Tasting NOTES
Our 2018 Heritage Chardonnay is a bright and balanced representation of this age worthy white. Crafted to release with additional bottle age, the wine is rich with notes of a freshly baked apple pie as notes of cinnamon and clove mingle with fruit. Citrus notes of apricot and herbal flavors of lemon verbena dance around richer elements of marzipan and fresh vanilla bean and lemon curd.
Vineyard NOTES
Eight miles north of San Pablo Bay, the Bundschu familys 165 year-old Rhinefarm vineyards wrap around the southwest slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains. Two distinct blocks of 50+ year old Chardonnay vines have consistently produced top lots with the greatest complexity. At first light, the vineyard crew begins harvesting by hand cluster by cluster, looking for clones that have a variation of large and small berries to deliver complexity, freshness, and age ability for our Heritage Chardonnay.
