Tasting NOTES
Our 2021 Heritage Chardonnay is a beautiful expression of the estate terroir. The nose is rich and complex, with enticing aromas of a freshly baked banana nut muffin and creme brûlée. On the palate, the wine is subtle and complex with flavors of citrus fruits and candied orange peel.
Vineyard NOTES
Eight miles north of San Pablo Bay, the Bundschu familys 165 year-old Rhinefarm vineyards wrap around the southwest slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains. Two distinct blocks of 50+ year old Chardonnay vines have consistently produced top lots with the greatest complexity. At first light, the vineyard crew begins harvesting by hand cluster by cluster, looking for clones that have a variation of large and small berries to deliver complexity, freshness, and age ability for our Heritage Chardonnay.
