2023 Chardonnay, Heritage Selection
Sonoma Coast// LOW INVENTORY // On the palate, the wine is subtle and complex with flavors of Meyer lemon, crisp green apple, and the savory tang of preserved lemon rind.
Tasting NOTES
Our 2023 Heritage Chardonnay marries coastal brightness with layered complexity opening with inviting aromas of lemon ricotta pancakes, toasted vanilla wafer, and a flinty minerality. The palate is textured yet vibrant, with beeswax richness, Meyer lemon, crisp green apple, and the savory tang of preserved lemon rind. A wine that feels both elevated and effortless, its a natural partner for mushroom quiche, goat cheese salad, shrimp scampi,Zuni roast chicken with bread salad, or the aromatic warmth of a Moroccan vegetable tagine.
Vineyard NOTES
Eight miles north of San Pablo Bay, the Bundschu familys 165 year-old Rhinefarm vineyards wrap around the southwest slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains. Two distinct blocks of 50+ year old Chardonnay vines have consistently produced top lots with the greatest complexity. At first light, the vineyard crew begins harvesting by hand cluster by cluster, looking for clones that have a variation of large and small berries to deliver complexity, freshness, and age ability for our Heritage Chardonnay.
